Bambu PC FR – Flame Retardant Engineering Polycarbonate Filament

Bambu PC FR is a high-performance polycarbonate filament designed for demanding engineering applications that require excellent flame retardancy, impact resistance, and heat stability. With outstanding durability and structural strength, this material performs reliably in professional environments such as industrial manufacturing, electronics housings, and automotive components exposed to elevated temperatures.

Top-Tier Flame Retardancy

Bambu PC FR is tested to meet the UL 94-2023 V-0 flame-retardant standard, one of the highest levels of fire resistance for 3D printing materials. The filament is engineered to slow or prevent flame propagation and features excellent self-extinguishing behavior, making it suitable for safety-critical components in electronics, automotive systems, and industrial machinery.

UL 94 V-0 Flame Rating Explained

UL 94 is a plastics flammability standard developed by Underwriters Laboratories in the United States. A V-0 rating represents the highest classification in the UL 94 vertical burn test. It means that when the material is exposed to flame in a vertical position, combustion stops within 10 seconds after the flame source is removed. Dripping particles are allowed as long as they do not ignite surrounding materials.

Engineering-Grade Mechanical Performance

Bambu PC FR is an engineering-grade filament with strength and toughness comparable to advanced composite materials such as PAHT-CF. The material provides excellent stiffness, impact resistance, and structural stability, allowing printed parts to perform reliably under mechanical stress. These characteristics make it an ideal choice for structural components, protective housings, and industrial fixtures that require both strength and durability.

Drying Conditions:

Dry before use for higher printing quality. PC FR must be dried before use and kept moisture-free during the printing process. Store in a dry environment, such as an airtight storage container with a desiccant, after use. For more details, please refer to:Printing tips for Engineering materials on WIKI.

  • In a blast drying oven: 80°C for 8 hours.
  • On an X1 printer’s heatbed: 90°C to 100°C for 12 hours.

Safety Attention:

The nozzle temperature should be between 260-280°C, and the heat bed temperature should be between 90-110°C. Please ensure safety during printing.
